HP Integrity NonStop NS2000 Servers
- HP Integrity NonStop NS2000 Servers provide you
with a single system view of applications and can
efficiently and transparently make use of up to four
processors to guarantee fast response times. The NS2000
was designed for small and mid-sized organizations in the
healthcare, financial services, and telecommunications
industries, as well as customer in emerging markets. It
allows organizations to cost-effectively meet the high
availability and scalability demands needed to compete with
larger companies, while realizing the full benefits of HP
NonStop technology. The HP Integrity NonStop NS2000
family, all powered by the dual-core Intel
Itanium processor 9100 series processors, are
recent additions to the Integrity NonStop product family.

HP Integrity NonStop NS2000 Servers
- The servers in the
Integrity NonStop NS2000 series use much of the same
modular system hardware as other Integrity NonStop
NS-series servers and combine up to four HP Integrity
rx2660 servers with the NonStop operating system. Each
HP Integrity rx2660 server is adapted for use as a
blade element containing one dual-core Intel® Itanium®
processor and a ServerNet PCI adapter card to
provide connectivity to the ServerNet fabrics.

Some
variation of enclosure combinations is possible within
the modular cabinets of an Integrity NonStop NS2000
server. The applications and purpose of any NonStop
NS2000 server determine the number and combinations
of hardware within a modular cabinet.
- The HP Integrity rx2660 server is
adapted for use as an AC-powered
blade element in the Integrity NonStop
NS2000 system. Each rx2660 blade
element contains one dual-core Intel
Itanium processor and a ServerNet PCI
adapter card to provide connectivity to the
ServerNet fabrics. An Integrity NonStop
NS2000 server supports up to four rx2660 blade elements
configured in
- pairs. Because modular hardware provides
flexibility in how hardware is distributed
in a rack, up to four blade elements can be installed in a single footprint.
- To
reduce ambiguity in identifying proper cable
connections to the blade element, an
identification convention uses numbers to
refer to each connection. A number such as
1, 2, 3, and 4 identifies each blade
element. These IDs reference the appropriate
blade element for proper connection of
cables.
